Study to Show Yourself Approved

Scripture: “Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15 (CSB)

Reflection: I want you to know how genuinely excited I am to walk through God’s Word with you in the coming weeks. One of my greatest joys as your pastor is opening the Scriptures—not just to prepare sermons, but in my daily devotional time with the Lord. I want to walk with you through that same process so you can learn to study the Bible with confidence and joy.

We’ll take a simple, clear approach that anyone can do. I truly believe these next sessions will strengthen your faith and deepen your love for God’s Word—so make plans to be here and lean in with expectation.

Here are the four steps we’ll be using:

  1. Read the passage multiple times.

  2. Make immediate observations.

  3. Ask questions (Who, What, When, Where, Why).

  4. Research your questions.

To get started, try these steps today with Psalm 100. I’d love to hear what you see and learn.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your Word. Give me diligence to study it, clarity to understand it, and a heart ready to obey it. Shape my life through what I learn, and help me handle Your truth faithfully. Amen.
