Get A Grip on the Bible

Scripture: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16

Reflection: Our grip on God’s Word becomes stronger when we engage it in multiple ways—like using all five fingers to hold something firmly.

  • Hear it by listening to others teach and preach. Take notes on what you hear so truth doesn’t slip away (Romans 10:17).

  • Read it daily. Set a goal for how much Scripture you will read each day (1 Timothy 4:13).

  • Study it with intentional depth. Enroll in Sunday School or a group Bible study where you can learn and discuss (2 Timothy 2:15).

  • Memorize it. Aim to memorize at least one verse each week (Psalm 119:11).

  • Meditate on it as you drive, walk, rest, jog, or go about your day (Joshua 1:8).

Each practice strengthens your grasp. Which one do you need to grow in this week?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to handle it with intention and love. Strengthen my desire to hear, read, study, memorize, and meditate on it daily. Let Your truth settle deep in my heart and guide my steps today. Amen.
